My Quilt Sampler UFO

My Quilt Sampler

This is the progress of my latest UFO. I've given it the name "My Quilt Sampler". I will need to go to the store this weekend to purchase some sashing and border/binding fabrics to complete it. I'm glad I decided to finish this quilt. I love the colors. I'm using EQ7 to design a finish layout; which will be post when completed. So, what UFO(s) have you been working on lately?

Beaded Bracelets

I did a little quilting detour again. I think I'm loving my little detours. I have completed four beaded bracelets. I have enjoyed the process too. I have almost depleted  my beading stash. I won't replenished it. I'm trying to downsize my craft stash๐Ÿ˜Š.

Small brown beads with spacers and a JOY charm
Large Navy beads with a INSPIRE charm

Turquoise Cross with small brown beads and a FAITH charm
The cross bracelet clasp has the reading "You are my Sunshine". I believe the Lord Jesus Christ is my everyday sunshine. I added the "Faith" charm to represent my faith in God.

The Ivory type elephants bracelet clasp has the reading "Life is Good" with the "Laugh" charm. It is always good to laugh. No matter how bad your day is.

I will enjoy wearing my new bracelets. Knowing each one expresses me!

Over the years I have knitted, crotchet-ed, cross stitched, stenciled, greeting cards, embroidery, jewelry, and many other crafts. These are just a few things I need to downsize. Sewing has always been a passion for me. It bring me joy. Though I left the fashion industry to pursue Computer Engineering, I knew I would return to the  fabric world. And in doing so, I found my way into the quilting world. I just love it. I know I take little detours. But it helps my thinking process when I'm designing.

Remember the UFO I wrote about a few weeks ago. I will have pictures of my progress soon. It's coming along nicely.

Now Sew and make someone HAPPY!

Dresden Plate

Just finishing up my Dresden Plate block. It's one of the blocks to a sampler quilt. This quilt has been left behind because the quilt along had stopped with no instructions to the completed quilt๐Ÿ˜ž. So, instead if making a table runner (something I should of did long time ago), I tucked it away. I finally pulled it out to work on.

I'm adding blocks I have not made quilts from. This will give me the opportunity to explore different quilt blocks (something beginner quilters did in the past, especially young girls).  Also, I will later decide whether I would make a quilt from one of these blocks.
Dresden Plate Block
This quilt block  (above) was a fun block to do. I think I will make a table runner with placemats one day. But for now, I am trying to reduce the amount of UFO's I have (too many to say..๐Ÿ˜). But I have completed 4 this year. Yay!

Here are some of the other blocks I recently added.
Card Trick, Jacob Ladder, Morning Star (Long Star)

Drunkard Path, Fanny Favorite ,Milky Way
These earlier blocks (left and below) were part of the quilt along. They are reading monochromatic. So the blocks I'm adding has a splash of Triad colors.

Bricks, Monkey Wrench

Upcycled Apron

I decided to take a detour from quilting.  I wanted to try my hand at making a upcycled Jean Apron.  I use a pair of my DH and mines old pair of jeans.  The accent fabric  was an old sheet from my childhood bed.  Talk about antique...๐Ÿ˜.  I had a chance to use my ruffler foot to apply the ruffle.  I rounded the corners to give the apron a softer look.  I made the ties  long enough to go through the belt loops and make a nice front bow.  I think it finished well for my first try without a pattern.
Now let's go sew and make someone HAPPY!
