President Obama Quilt

This week I have been working on the backing for my President Obama quilt. This quilt started out being simple. But I thought it needed a little something more. Here are the blocks I have sewing this week for the backing.
Tea Quilt

As you can see, I love stars. I have two more stars to complete before putting it all together. I think I might embroider the  single "Evening Star". With the large white space, it seems to scream..."Embroider me!" (LOL)  How about
Barack Obama
44th USA
hum... has an nice ring to it.

I'm excited about how it will turn out. I haven't yet figure out how I'm going to quilt it. But I have ideas dancing in my head.

Dish Towel Hannah

This is the year of completing some of my UFOs. Here is one of my completed UFO. It comes with a cute story.

The story of Hannah ....

Hannah has always popped up when I go looking for a new project to start. But I would continue to ignore her. Once again Hannah was sadden. A new project was started and she stayed as an UFO. But this year, she was determine. Hannah really wanted to be completed. I kept bumping into her. So I put her on my work table to be completed.  And yes, she was ignored again. But only for a short while. As I was cleaning my studio, Hannah looked like she just wanted to be completed. So, today I worked on Hannah and finally completed .

After 18 years, of Hannah wanting to be completed, the wait is over. She can now be displayed instead of being ignore and lonely. She can now smile. I am glad I completed Hannah. I love her and  will find her a good home.

I hope you enjoy my little story.

Child Poodle Skirt

Well, I been a little busy. I recently finished a poodle skirt for my niece. I think she will love it. The skirt pattern was downloaded from Craftsy. I downloaded a free  poodle clipart to use as my applique. And made bias tape using the bias tape maker by Clover.

Emory Poodle Skirt
The poodle was fused on with fusible web. I used Elmer glue ( couldn't find my Roxane glue) to keep the bias tape in place until it was sewn on (small dots only). This skirt is so versatile your can let you imagination go wild. I think a cotton skirt with ruffles would look nice.......mmm. Maybe another skirt in the future.
